My Hawaiian Experience

Well, I didn't actually go to Hawaii. But we did have a Hawaiian themed party at a friend's house from church a couple of months ago, and I did promise y'all that I'd post pictures... so here they are in no particular order...

My roommate Leah and I: Striking a pose! I should preface the rest of this with the fact that I was going OUT OF MY WAY to wear the most ridiculous outfit ever. I'm a leader for our young adult group and felt that it was my duty to set the standard for Hawaiian costumes that night. Please take note of the absolutely monstrous flower on my head; let me assure you that this was NOT an attempt at a new fashion statement. I was particularly striving for ridiculousness.

Ummm yeah. Apparently we didn't "strike" well enough the first time...

My sweet and adoreable married friends, M. and and J.!

The Gang.

Leah at home later that night. Isn't she CUTE?!?

This is our Christmas tree! Can't wait can't wait!!! Totally unrelated to the rest of the story, but I came across the picture and got really excited for CHRISTMAS CHRISTMAS CHRISTMAS!!!

So there it is: Us in all of our glory... well actually, Leah's behind me reminding me that this is not us in ALL our glory: this is only a small part of it. We've reached levels of ridiculousness that has far surpassed what you have just seen. We're slightly sad. And that's okay.

If you click on the picture of Leah, then it gets really big... lol. She cute in an Egor-ish kind of way. lol.

(Just kidding Leah... BTW my 2 year old daughter is named Leah. Pretty name... *whew... nice save Ben*) lol.

The blogging community requests, nay DEMANDS, to see proof of such "levels of ridiculousness that has far surpassed what you have just seen". We question this claim and assert that proof in the form of pictures must be given or we will think you are ridiculous wanna-bes and NOONE likes a ridiculous wanna-be.

Duede Ben you can't just come to my friends site and start calling her roomie Egor, them be fighting words brother-man.

Play nice.

Ben: Yeah, in that pic she's rather Egor-esque lol! But she's really very cute when she's not trying to be like me: facial contortionist extraordinaire!

Katie: Oh you're going to make me dig into the deep recesses of our photo albums to find ridiculousness that surpasses what I've posted today? That's a challenge I'm willing to take sister, but as always: I INSIST that you join me in this venture... what can you find to post that would unabashedly display YOUR ridiculousness? (Don't act shocked, we're two peas in a pod remember!) And I will say that even if I can't find any pictures that are worthy enough, I will tell you that we are NOT, nor have we ever been "ridiculous wannabees". We are totally and completely ridiculous ALL THE TIME. Even only if it's in the presence of one another (which is generally the case: but people at church have a pretty good idea of how sad we really are). So maybe I'll just start taking pics of us at home: to capture our true essence.

Kori: Thanks for stopping by! Yes, Oliver (aka "fatness") is very cute. He's also insanely wierd. He's half human, half dog in a cat's body. He's a terrifying little monster.

Steph- cute pics! I want to go to Hawaii! It looks like it was fun dressing up like you were there, though!

I can't believe your cat's name is Oliver. I have a nephew name Oliver. At first, I didn't like the name, but now I LOVE it and it completely fits him. He is definitely and "Ollie." :-)

I have 2 cats- Belle and Pumpkin. They're pretty fat.

Stephanie - Oliver does look like our cat, and our cat is part dog too! (In case you're confused, I'm Kori's mom) He loves to go for car rides! We call him Oreo. I think I'll post a picture of him.

Anyway, cute outfits. Looks like a good time.

And don't remind me, Christmas!

Oh, and my sister's middle name is Lea (without the h). So there you have it Leah, you're name is not so uncommon after all!

Is your roomie copying my pouty cowboy lips in picture number one????

Well unfortunatly Mr. Steve, this pic was taken a couple of months ago, so she beat you to it. So MAYBE you're copying her, ever think of that??

Shenna- Yeah, I caught that you are Kori's mom. And for good measure: I'll remind you again: CHRISTMAS CHRISTMAS CHRISTMAS! ;)

Everyone: NOT MY CATS. Leah has three of them. I love them because I have to, but I won't have any (hopefully) when I have my own home and family and stuff.

Also, Leah is not her real name: names have been changed to protect the innocent. And seriously, her name is so unique, you wouldn't believe me if I told you anyway.

Who's cute? YOU are! Love the pics. And also? Read your "shirt debacle" post to my mom yesterday and she thought it was hilarious, as I did.

Shenna: Shanaynay (from the best of my knowledge) originated with Martin Lawrence in his sitcom appropriately entitled, "Martin".
Steve doesn't like cats? NOOOOO! Get out! (Fortunately for him, he lives to far away to "pop on by for a visit"... otherwise, I think the "kitty-bowling" would likely ensue.)

Amber: You don't know how many times your posts have been read aloud to my poor unsuspecting roomie or my mother. Those two have enjoyed many laughs thanks to you! Glad your mom enjoyed hearing about my debacle! lol
